Our MISSION

We are an organization committed to building the future of our continent and its African diaspora; by empowering early visionaries to create sustainable solutions to our biggest challenges. 

We achieve this through initiatives centered around impact-driven entrepreneurship, community engagement in underserved regions, and career development for young Africans.

We strive for a reality where it’s never too early or difficult, for every African innovator to bring their idea to life and make a difference.

Who we are

  • Through our African Impact Challenge, we support young Africans who are passionate about building local solutions to their most pressing community problems. We believe the greatest amount of impact can be achieved through market-creating innovations, and we’re committed to birthing as many of these across the continent with technology.

  • Through our annual conferences, the African Impact Initiative engages policy makers and established African professionals from key industries with our youth community. We do this in an effort to begin dialogues, which go on to spark new projects/partnerships between those in attendance. You can join our community, to stay updated on future conferences!

  • Do you have a pressing issue in your underserved or rural community which you’d like to build a solution for? We invite you to check out our community impact stream, where we make a direct impact to African communities like yours.

  • Through our student workshops and diaspora student scholarships, we directly provide African students in Canada with guidance and resources that prepare them for the ever changing job market.

How We Started

With Great Privilege Comes Great Responsibility

In November 2016, Efosa shared the motivation behind launching the African Impact Initiative as a student group. By 2018 A.I.I was awarded by the University of Toronto and later incorporated as a non-profit later that year.
