SYNA CONSULTANCY - KENYA

Syna Consultancy is a social enterprise dedicated to providing equitable and inclusive sanitation solutions by paying special attention to the needs of persons with mobility challenges in rural and urban environments.

Syna was founded by Sylvia Nyaga and John Kemoli, they leverages their deep expertise and experience in Water & Sanitation with the goal of working towards achieving SDG 6.

They are looking to pilot their innovative product the Utulav toilet as a service in new markets improving lives and eliminate the indignity suffered by the elderly, the sick, and the physically challenged when it comes to sanitation

Chu Chu Softies - Ghana

Chu Chu Softies founded by Faith Labija, specialises in producing and distributing reusable pads that are inexpensive, widely available, and environmentally sustainable in Ghana. The vision is to create a system where every African woman can have access to and afford quality sanitary pads. We intend to do this by manufacturing quality, safe and affordable reusable pads.

The product leverages recycled plastic trash to create specific components of the pads and wet bags, it also addresses climate change and Sustainable Development Goals that are impacted by period poverty, such as clean water and sanitation.

ROCKET HEALTH - UGANDA

Rocket Health is a startup working to transform the delivery of medical care using technology. They have developed an end to end telemedicine and digital health platform focused on the prevention, diagnosis, care, and treatment to deliver medical services for patients with chronic illnesses in Uganda.

Rocket Health successfully raised a Series A round of $5M in 2022 and are looking to scale their impact across the region.

LIMA TECHNOLOGIES - RWANDA

The challenge of lack of agricultural market linkages is prevalent across Rwanda food supply chains where many smallholder farmers do not know where to sell their farm produce similarly many buyers do not know where specifically they can source for a particular produce.

Lima Technologies founded by Ariane, Alexis, Lawerence and Peter are building an integrated software system that links small holder farmers with markets in real time Through the Lima digital marketplace, agricultural buyers  are able to plan and procure the best quality produce from vetted farmers remotely.

ATradezone is a Rwanda based startup founded by Ndayizeye Depite Alphonse that is developing an e-commerce marketplace platform. They are leveraging blockchain technology with Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities that help manufacturers to optimise their operations in producing goods on-demand, creating efficient distribution channels, carry out focused digital marketing, manage their sales and accept online payments The platform connects producers and consumers, it is looking to promote and scale cross border trade across Africa.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE AFRICA - NIGERIA

Emergency Response Africa (ERA) is a healthcare technology company in Nigeria building the largest network of first responders, emergency vehicles and hospitals that can connect anyone experiencing a medical emergency to get help in minutes

Folake and Maame’s vision is to provide medical care to victims at the scene of the emergency and facilitates access to advanced hospital care by combining emergency response training with intelligent dispatch and communications technology and alternative medical transportation.

Medpack is an online pharmacy, digitalising pharmacy services, deliver medication and other pharmaceutical items and educating the public on the proper use of medicine through health articles.

MedPack are simplifying the process of managing medication through a combination of convenient packaging, modern technology and personalized service.

To scale their products and market penetration they are looking to raise $ 50,000 seed funding and partner with Insuarance providers in the region.

With the global population increasing, we need to find new solutions that are scalable, and sustainable to the planet. To work on this challenge, Kondwani and Brighton founded Shamba Data that has developed a platform to provide real time agriculture data of the African continent helping farmers increase food production, monitor food security & sustainability and mitigate the effect of climate change in the continent.

Their vision is to become to top agriculture data provider in Africa.

DoctorsLive is a Kenyan startup that provides on-demand personalised mental health care designed for individuals. Individuals can talk to or chat with therapists & use clinically validated self-care tooling from the comfort of their phones at all times. As they scale their impact they have partnered with insurance providers, and psychological professional associations.

Founded by David, Pauline and Dominic they are building a platform which creates access to a state of well-being in which the individual realises his or her abilities, can cope with the everyday stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully and can contribute to his or her own community.

Vectorgram builds health-tech infrastructure products targeted at large-scale digitization of the healthcare process in Kenyan hospitals to increase the scale of reach, solution efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of service provision.

Ian, Nikita and Brian are bring to life their vision to grow into the main technological service provider for hospitals in Kenya by onboarding 100 hospitals in 2023, in the short term, and in Africa in the long term.

Moto is a start-up in Mauritius on a mission of providing Life-saving Transport Options to customers by contracting and training existing taxi drivers in first aid methods, thereby enabling them to act as ambulances in a landscape where ambulances are scarce, expensive and not timely. emergency.

Moto was founded by Nomboh, Samkeliso, Ruth, Caleb & Busisiwe, students at African Leadership University. Their Moto application allows nearby drivers to receive high priority notifications and provide logistics services when someone needs a hospital transfer or has a relatively critical emergency

They are creating a friendly, safe and trustful platform availing evidence-based Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights information through a wide range of innovations.

The team led by Mick, Christelle, Honore and Fredrick are medical doctors who have developed an award-winning product: Urukundo Life Skills Board Game available both physically and digitally. They are the first ever licensed health education “board game” producing organisation based in Rwanda. IWell BioTracker - UGANDA

iWell BioTracker is redefining the wearable devices market focused on its ability to measure body vitals accurately (partial saturation of oxygen, temperature, physical activity, and pulse rate with a uniquely designed portable full-wrapped airbag to “accurately” measure blood pressure) in real-time for remote monitoring with a physician in case of abnormal values.

The team led by Noah and Innocent are working towards being the leading developers of medical wearable devices for monitoring body vitals and enhance early detection & treatment of cardiovascular diseases in Uganda and across Africa.
